The research has widespread implications for the treatment of pneumonia in developing nations where the standard of care is to hospitalize children with the illness. About two million children die from pneumonia annually, which is one of every five of the 10 million who die from all illnesses worldwide every year. About one child dies from pneumonia every four minutes...
